Back to school... Finally!

It is not that I don't like my kids. But having three rampages, creative and full of ideas kids for three months, it's kind of challenging. There is a moment in time that they don't know what else to do, and I certainly pass that stage like a month ago. So I am super happy about them going back to school and them using their brains more often. There were vines coming out from their ears.

That means, We are back in business (Me, myself, and I). There is a couple of projects I am working on. The dress-form series which  would have to wait because one of the workshops is coming up: "Mapping your Goals". It is developed already, but I need to work in  marketing and selling it. I dread this part. I just find it hard to make people understand the wonderful tools and skills they get with creativity. It is a win/win situation. But somehow their fear interferes and they wont allow themselves to have the experience.

Anyway, If you know of someone (including yourself) that wants to organize their head, map their path, achieve some goals in a very creative, entertaining, and relaxing way, Please pass on this information:

Generation Millenium

One of my eight year old twins- Camila- told me today she wanted to make a post in the blog. I thought it was something you could do by default, once you created your blog. Well, I was wrong. It took an eight year old two seconds to realize that there was no way to write a post in my blog.
She even asked me if I wanted to go to HER school blog (they created it with her teacher) and view the way she posted and how to do it. It was hilarious but humbling. I felt old.

So my apologies to you , if you have tried to post and weren't able do do so. Please try now. I think, it is solved (problem/solving skills), but if i didn't, let me know at info@thecreativepower.com .

Student of the month

I have chosen a very talented and thorough artist for this month. Her name is Cecilia Perez Manzaneda and we refer to her as "Tia Chila"(Aunt Chila). She came to the Senior
workshop and did a couple of paintings to start her journal. She loves arts and crafts and has done many artsy projects in Venezuela (South America)
like wedding bouquets, center decorations, etc,  but  Tia Chila's most amazing and refined trait is her  dulce de leche candy sculptures which can take any form shape and size. She has done baby shower decorations, little baby shoes, miniature sail boats, fruit sculptures, mini people, etc. I have been fortunate enough to taste this beautiful delicacies which you are totally hesitant to bite because you don't want to ruin them, but they are Delicious!.
Here is the artist and one of her journal pages.

Hello everyone,

Finally , I made it. I have been trying to get to the blog everyday since my last post.

I wanted to show you what I am working on right now. I am thinking about several names still. Here you have some photos. The first one is the upper bodice of a dress form I am transforming into an art piece. I don't know exactly were I am going with it, but it doesn't matter. I am letting the piece take me. I am allowing creativity to  lead the way.

There are some of the images showing the studio as well.
I hope you guys enjoyed it.

Write any questions or comments you have. Also, if you have some creativity to show in any way or art form: post it here. We appreciate all type of positive and healthy creativity.

Well,  Being my first post, I think it was very successful. I love to play around with the design, but i need to quit that because I can be there forever changing color, fonts etc. I need to post about The Beauty and the beast workshop that finish on May. It was a wonderful and amazing experience. I need to get the photos together.

My most young at heart group ever

It was really a magical and mystical afternoon tea.
I learned so much from my guest whom, by the way, were all seniors , but have children's hearts.

They all came not knowing what we were going to do. I just said " Come, we will have fun". Of course, they were all in time ready to... Paint? Yes, they painted, colored, drew, wrote , etc, etc, etc.
It was an afternoon to reacquaint with their creative selves which all of them said, they forgotten about long time ago, "since we were little girls."

As I started to explain what I had prepared for them, their eyes opened
more and more, not being even able to blink, out of astonishment.
The greatest part is how all of them just follow the few instructions and started to create. They did not hesitate. What great sports, It was a humble lesson for me. How many times when I am  confronted with the unknown, I hesitated. In a few of those occasions , I had  backed up. They are called: "Lost opportunities", lost  opportunities to grow.

Anyway, The afternoon was very productive. We talked about their legacy. How could they live something very meaningful for us, their heirs.
Something that would tell us their essence; that would help us to understand  how they thought; and how they view the world and each one of us. Something that would allowed us to get to know them better and deeper even if they are gone.

That is how they started they own Journals. we did  three exercises: No judgment page, drawing my little girl page, and  The things a like Page. In each exercise they had to use a different technique and or medium. They learned about colors, markers, watercolors, collage, different glues, and  some technique and composition. Their work was awesome and the
y worked very hard the whole afternoon. We even squeezed some time to face paint them, and time for hour English afternoon tea. Here are the participants and some of the examples they created. Truly pieces of art full of meaning and full of information for us: the heirs.
